The Lagom Lifestyle: What We’re All Striving For
Over the past decade I have dedicated my coaching to helping individuals, primarily women, to transform their bodies and their minds by providing fitness and nutrition programs using an approach that recognizes the mind-body connection to food and health.
A few years ago I burned out (I am not sure how public I really was about it) but, I was a mom juggling the demands of owning my own company that was in the midst of a huge growth spurt, traveling for work, and trying to maintain my own diet and fitness to ensure I was in ‘tip top’ shape for photo-shoots. The added pressure of increasing industry standards and social media “fitspo” finally surmounted and I realized there had to be a way I could find my own balance – somewhere in between the “before” and the “after” pics, where self-love is encouraged and balance is attained; where women can feel healthy and alive while still living and enjoying the food they eat. And without knowing this ideal already existed, I began to develop and apply my business around helping women to find their own personal balance through fitness and nutrition. What I now realize is that what I was striving for, what we are all striving for, is a lifestyle of lagom.
Lagom; is Swedish for ‘just the right amount’, not too little and not too much. It is a lifestyle; a lifestyle that I teach my clients to reach for.
We live in a society where busy is the new cool, excess is encouraged, stress is the norm, life is lived at warp speed, and happiness is what is sacrificed. When what we inherently desire is a lagom lifestyle. A balanced, less complicated and happy life.
Join me in my own personal journey to find lagom while also inspiring others to live their lagom life as well.
