A new milestone: My First Cover as an Entrepreneur
I was introduced to the fitness world a decade ago by a well known fitness magazine with the title reading, “From Business Suits to Bikini Bottoms” after leaving my corporate job. That title defined me for many years to come as my focus in the industry and who I was typically featured me in the spotlight wearing fitness gear or bikinis. It was who I was and how I built my brand and was what landed me 10 international magazine covers. Over the years I worked hard at building my brand and who I was and as time went on and as I grew in the industry, my brand started to change. I became more positioned from your typical ‘fitness girl’ to a leading entrepreneur in the health and wellness space. I started writing for entrepreneurial platforms, speaking at corporate events and mentoring others within the industry. Just last month I was interviewed by The Edge on my success in the industry only to find out a few weeks later that they wanted to shoot me for their cover.
So there I was, 10 years later, standing in front of photographer Daria Keenan back in a business suit (Caribbean style of course) shooting the cover for my first entrepreneurial magazine. Quite an honor to have been asked and also something that allows me to see how far I have come over this past decade in an industry that is rapidly growing and constantly evolving.
